Letter from the Founder

Dear Parents,

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make in your child’s life.

Why? Because school is not just about books and exams — it’s where your child will spend thousands of hours, form lifelong habits, and begin to understand who they are and how they fit into the world. The school they attend will shape not only their knowledge, but their confidence, their character, and their voice.

And I know that can feel overwhelming. As a parent, you want to get it right — and the responsibility of choosing “the right school” can feel daunting. I understand that completely.

So let me tell you why I believe MMIEH & O’NEIL may be the right place for your child.

This school was born out of a deep belief: that Ghanaian children deserve an education that honours their identity, nurtures their potential, and prepares them to thrive — not just here, but anywhere.

That’s why our approach is built on a meaningful blend of Ghanaian culture and global competence. Your child must know how to respect others, carry themselves with dignity, and understand their place in the world. But they must also know when and how to speak up — with clarity, confidence, and care.

They must love who they are and where they come from. Because without a deep connection to their Ghanaian heritage — their language, their values, their story — they cannot walk confidently in any room, anywhere in the world.

And yes, we believe in discipline — but not as punishment for its own sake.
Discipline, for us, is about teaching self-mastery of your emotions, your time, and your choices. Because a disciplined mind is a powerful mind.

At MMIEH & O’NEIL, we aim to raise learners who think critically, live consciously, and grow with purpose. A school where tradition and innovation are not at odds. Where faith, confidence, and academic rigour go hand in hand.

I want your child to be known here. Not as a number, not just as a grade — but as a whole person.

That is the promise of MMIEH & O’NEIL. And if that vision speaks to you, I would be honoured to welcome your family into our founding community.

Warmly, Barbara Osei Mmieh
Founder, MMIEH & O’NEIL International Preparatory School
